We’re in search of a Back-End Software Engineer who will bring a depth of knowledge on basic algorithms and data structures. As a Back-End Software Engineer, on any given day you might be architecting new features for our customers, refactoring existing code to be more scalable, and seeing changes through to completion in a live environment.

What you will do :

• Design and create services and system architecture for your projects, and contribute and provide feedback to other team members.

• Help improve our code quality through writing unit tests, automation and performing code reviews.

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of Back-End Software Engineers, Project Managers and System Administrators.

• Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute ideas to our technology, algorithms and products.

• Work with the product and design teams to understand end-user requirements, formulate use cases, and then translate that into a pragmatic and effective technical solution.

• Dive into difficult problems and successfully deliver results on schedule.

Your Qualifications are:

• 7+ years of recent hands-on coding and software design.

• Bachelor's degree or more in Computer Science or a related field.

• A track record of projects completed on time – you are a flawless executor, not a procrastinator.

• You find satisfaction in a job well done and want to solve head-scratching challenges.

• Experience with all phases of the software development life cycle, best practices, and Agile Software Development.

• Experience using Django.

• Solid OOP and software design knowledge – you should know how to create software that’s extensible, reusable, and meets desired architectural objectives.

• Strong familiarity with Web Server technologies including NGINX, Apache, and J2EE.

• Experience with Java or Ruby, and the willingness to learn new technologies (experience with other object-oriented languages is okay too, but our code is Java, Ruby, and Scala, so you should be able to get up-to-speed on at least one of them quickly.

• Establish Back-End Software Engineer best practices.

• Work autonomously, are excited by new technologies, and will never back down from the challenges of scale.

• Experience with Linux/Unix and scripting languages like Python, Perl, shell scripting, etc.

• Knowledge of database systems and NoSQL databases such as DynamoDB.

• Experience deploying machine learning models is a plus.

Must Haves: 

• BSc in Computer/Software Engineering, Science, or a related technical field.

• Minimum of 7 years in software development.

• High level expertise in UML

• High level of expertise in traditional computer software system design

• Advanced proficiency in Python programming language.

• Familiarity with unit testing tools, such as Pytest.

• Proficient in using Github for code management.

• Strong experience with multithreading and multiprocessing programming (e.g., Celery, Ray).

• Good experience in deploying models using FastAPI.

• Well-versed with SQL/NoSQL databases and Big-Data platforms (e.g., MongoDB, Hadoop, Elastic-search, Redis).

Nice To Haves:

• Experience in designing, building, and deploying end-to-end ML pipelines using deep learning frameworks such as Scikit-learn, PyTorch, and TensorFlow.

• Familiarity with MLOps and AutoML platforms, including Kubeflow, MLflow, Kubernetes, and Docker.

What You Would Do:

• Provide scientific machine learning methodology leadership.

• Use AI/ML to solve NLP tasks and hard challenges, primarily for internal projects (i.e. for our product offering) and also for external projects (e.g. for customer projects)

• Build state-of-the-art models for cognitive services using various open source and machine learning principles and techniques (including but not limited to Classical Machine Learning such as logistic regression, SVM, NN, Clustering, and Deep Learning; including CNN, RNN, Transformer, Seq2Seq, BERT)

• Brainstorm and design various POCs using ML/DL/NLP solutions for new or existing enterprise problems

• Collaborate with fellow scientists and software engineers to build out various parts of our AI/ML infrastructure, services, and solutions, and effectively communicate the solutions to address external and internal shareholder's product challenges by presenting to highly technical audiences

• Present effective, highly technical and complex solutions and architectures to audiences with limited or no experience in machine learning solutions

Your Minimum Qualifications Are:

• Advanced degree (Ph.D. preferred, Masters accepted) in Computer Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Statistics or Mathematics, preferably with specialization in Artificial intelligence, Machine Learning, Speech Recognition, Natural Language Processing, Operations Research, or a related field

• 7+ years of Industry experience in designing and implementing machine learning models at scale, with a track record of deploying them in large-scale production environments

• Experience with any of the following: SotA attention models, Large Language Models (LLMs), Conversational AI, Virtual Assistants, Document Understanding, Spoken Language Understanding, Information Retrieval, Question/Answering or related fields

• Experience in LLM reasoning, ACT, and ReACT methods

• Experience in developing and debugging in Python, C/C++ or C#

• Fluent in building models with Python and state-of-the-art machine learning libraries (e.g. PyTorch, Tensorflow, MxNet).

• Experience or willingness to learn and work in Agile and iterative development and DevOps processes.

• Ability to work with minimal supervision, keeping a strong alignment with your technical peers, non-technical partners, and the overall company objective.

• You enjoy and thrive in a fast-working collaborative environment.

• A deep experience and understanding in Statistics, Mathematical models, Multivariate and DL algorithms
